Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?
Adjustment of a joint may result in release of gas bubbles between the joints that make a popping sound – it’s exactly the same as when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint that results in gas bubbles being released. There is no pain involved.

What Causes Sciatica?
For those unaware, sciatica is not actually a condition but rather a collection of symptoms caused when the sciatic nerve is irritated. Pain, numbness, tingling, and weakness in the arms and legs are all part of sciatica. What causes these set of symptoms can vary, but here are a few core problems that can cause sciatica.
Lumbar Disc Herniation
The most common culprit of sciatica pain is disc herniation in the lumbar area of the spine. This occurs when the spinal disc degenerates and begins to break down, which can cause the inner part of the disc to leak to the outer portion. Sciatica pain is caused because the weak spot of the outer core of the disc is directly under the spinal nerve root. When a herniation occurs in this area, it puts pressure on the nerve.
Lumbar Spinal Stenosis
This is a condition where either the spinal canal or one or more of the vertebral foramina becomes narrowed. The narrowing can result in compression of the spinal cord or spinal nerves causing painful sciatica symptoms.
Spondylolisthesis
A condition in which one of the bones of the vertebrae slips out of place onto the vertebrae below it. As it slips the bones of the lower back become affected, and it could also end up pressing on a nerve.
Piriformis Syndrome
A condition that occurs when the piriformis muscle, found in the buttock region, spasms and causes buttock pain. As the sciatic nerve is in close proximity, the spasming can cause irritation.
Other Causes of Sciatica
Spinal Tumors
Trauma
Pregnancy
Infections in or Around the Lumbar Spoine
Internal Bleeding
Arthritis
